La Stampa of Alessandria

After the confinement phase and the manifestations of crisis in the commercial sector, I felt the duty to write a letter to the merchants in which I proposed to occupy the spaces of the city with people and not only with cars.

It becomes a possible response to a historical moment in which the need for space is strategic.

By imagining multifunctional and autonomous neighborhoods capable of limiting the obligation to move, we could recreate the sense of community. The rules imposed by this pandemic force us to stay away but there are solutions.

The example of “Il Cristo”, the suburb of the city that has been reborn thanks to its inhabitants, is the most concrete one can mention in this regard.
